RECO Hoist supplies extended platforms in Glasgow
Since the first Travelodge hotel opened in 1940, the management has been committed to give customers an affordable, comfortable and clean place to rest their head. One of the newest hotels in the UK is the biggest of six Travelodge hotels in Glasgow, situated In the heart of the centre on Queen Street. The 171 room hotel - being funded by Business Premises Renovation Fund and representing an investment of £12 million - is an office conversion of the former Charlotte House building. The job turned out to be the refurbishment of a 1960's office block into a Travelodge hotel. Anglo Holt Construction Ltd took care of the reconstruction.
Professional and creative
In order to support the building process in the best way possible we provided the GL200 goods hoist, able to lift 2,000 kg in one time, to a height of 34 meters. To meet the demand for effective high-rise access solutions we connected the hoist with separate gates on all ten floors. Furthermore we extended the hoist platform size to 3.5m x 2.5m to enable the bathroom pods to be lifted as a complete unit to each floor level. This was a recognized contribution to the progress of the project. We are very satisfied that we, once again, were given the opportunity to demonstrate our professional and creative skills and lived up to the expectations of our client.
